Terms of Service

Provider: Leadership Under Uncertainty, operator of the NorthBrief pilot.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using NorthBrief, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
2. The service
NorthBrief provides AI-generated strategic intelligence briefs, probabilistic forecasts, and conversational advisory targeted at executives and business leaders. The service is currently offered on a pilot / early-access basis.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and have legal capacity to enter into a contract. NorthBrief is intended for business use; you represent that you are acting in a professional capacity.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secret and for all activity under your account. Enable multi-factor authentication. Notify us at security@leadershipunderuncertainty.org of any unauthorized access.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse-engineer the service or attempt to extract its models.
- Use the service to violate law or third-party rights.
- Upload or submit malicious code, unlawful content, or personal data you have no right to process.
- Use the service to generate content that infringes intellectual property or defames individuals.
- Exceed published rate limits or attempt to circumvent them.
6. AI-generated content
Briefs, forecasts, and conversational advice are generated by large language models and forecasting engines. Output can contain errors, omissions, or hallucinated facts. Do not rely on NorthBrief output as the sole basis for material decisions. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs.
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you submit (profile data, strategic context, goals, Gmail content ingested via OAuth). You grant us a limited license to process this content solely to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy.
8. Fees and billing
Pilot users may access the service free of charge at our discretion. Paid subscriptions are billed via Stripe per the plan selected at checkout. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
9. Termination
You may terminate at any time from Settings → Privacy → Delete my account. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these Terms, non-payment, or risk to the service. On termination, we delete your data per the retention rules in the Privacy Policy (30-day grace period, then full erasure).
10. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that forecasts will prove accurate.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for claims arising out of the service is limited to fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or fraud).
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without reference to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Madrid, Spain, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection venue rules.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
